Heavy equipment is a group of engineering machinery specialized in construction operations or construction works such as roads, building dams, digging tunnels, mines and other works that require the presence of such huge machines.

There are several companies specializing in the manufacture of these heavy equipment, such as the Japanese company Komatsu, Swedish Volvo, and Swiss Lebhir, and many manufacturers of these machines or heavy equipment but the most famous of these manufacturers of heavy equipment are the American company, Caterpillar, which specializes in designing, marketing and selling heavy machinery and diesel engines. Caterpillar Inc is the largest heavy equipment company in the world since its founding in 1925.

1: Bulldosers : 

It is a mechanism equipped with a hydraulic system and a metal chain to walk and has a solid metal blade in front to push it used in pushing soil and stones. 

2: Loader 

It is one of the most famous heavy equipment because it is used extensively in several special operations such as loading soil, sand and gravel, or other loading, unloading or packing operations. There are several forms of this loader or tees, including large, medium and small depending on the nature of the work. It also works with a hydraulic system and it has wheels unlike other equipment. 

3: Excavators

They are huge machines with strong and solid metal chains. And it is forbidden to walk on hard roads in order not to damage the asphalt and other roads. They are loaded by specialized trucks to carry heavy equipment. It specializes in excavation, demolition, trenching, traction and lifting operations. It is also used in drilling mines by installing a drill bit in the head of the hand of the digger and breaking rocks with it. 4: Grader 

Grader is one of the most important heavy equipment that contributes in road construction operations. It settles soil, sand or gravel used in building roads and leveling the ground. It works with a hydraulic system and has wheels and is not a chain like other machines and has a blade in the middle that contributes to leveling the road according to the inclination degree. The most famous manufacturer of these machines are Caterpillar and Komatsu. 

5: Compressors

It is one of the most important heavy equipment used in the roads, as these compressors travel over soil, sand, gravel, or asphalt back and forth until it is leveled and gives a level, compact and solid shape. There are several types of these compressors, including large, medium and small ones and there are those that have wheels in the front and a circular shape in the front like the barrel is solid and strong, and those that have this shape from the front and back, which is the best form in terms of the nature of the work so that it presses more strongly. These compressors are hydraulic powered. Among the main manufacturers are Caterpillar, Volvo and JCB 

6: Asphalt Paver 

It is one of the heavy equipment specialized only in Majbool asphalt brushes (a mixture of gravel and oils) and it comes after leveling the road with a pavement and passing compressors. The asphalt paver is an engineering machine that settles the asphalt in an advanced way after the trucks empty the pavement into the pavement box in an orderly and gradual manner so that this pavement will level and stack it in the required manner specified in a scale. 

7: Articulated trucks 

They are heavyweight trucks. They are doing business a greater tonnage. This 38-ton truck can be good in a trailer different from other trucks, giving the driver more safety, using an advanced and hydraulic system. 

8: Telescopic tractor 

It is a versatile tractor that is included in the heavy equipment due to its multiple uses. It works like a crane by extending a shield to the top or forward or by unloading and loading goods just like a machine for unloading goods by means of a device attached to the crane shield that enables it to fill and unload the goods. This telescopic tractor works hydraulically. 

9: Asphalt scrapers 

It is one of the heavy equipment used in the operations of removing old asphalt from the ground or pavement. It has been milled and reused in a new dock. This machine removes defects on old asphalt, shortens the time, and gains more time and money in searching for and mixing new asphalt. The German company Wörtejen is the first to manufacture these creams
